Second Report (Second Series) of the Committee to Collect and Tabulate Observations on the Climate of Devon During 1882.

Trans. Devon Assoc., 1883, Vol XV, pp. 134-136.

by

P.F.S. Amery.

Prepared by Michael Steer

The Report was presented at the Association’s July 1883 Exmouth meeting. The Committee had collected and tabulated an abstract of meteorological observations taken during 1882 relating to rainfall, temperature, humidity, and cloud, by a number of experienced persons scattered throughout Devon, claiming that a comparison afforded a better idea of the climatic variations in the different districts than any generalization could provide. This index provides a record of the observers who participated in the project and identifies their stations. All names are recorded on page 132 of the Report. The article, from a copy of a rare and much sought-after journal can be downloaded from the Internet Archive. Google has sponsored the digitisation of books from several libraries. These books, on which copyright has expired, are available for free educational and research use, both as individual books and as full collections to aid researchers.
