Seventeenth Report of the Committee on Scientific Memoranda

1893, Vol XXV, pp. 171-180.

by

J Brooking-Rowe, F.L.S., F.L.A. (Hon. Secretary)

Prepared by Michael Steer

This report, presented by the Committee’s Honorary Secretary, was delivered at Torquay during the Association’s July 1893 meeting. Its purpose was “to note the discovery or occurrence of such facts, in any department of scientific inquiry and connected with Devonshire, as it may be desirable to place on permanent record but may not be of sufficient importance in themselves to form the subjects of separate papers.” The Memoranda are arranged under the following discrete headings – Anthropological, Geological, Seismology, Meteors, Numismatical and Archaeological.  The Report has been recovered from a copy of a rare journal and can be downloaded from the Internet Archive. Google has sponsored the digitization of books from several libraries. These books, on which copyright has expired, are available for free educational and research use, both as individual books and as full collections to aid researchers.
