Will dated 11 Feb 1837. William Potter died May 14, 1839 and the Will was proved October 7, 1839

Be it remembered that this is the last Will and Testament of me, William Potter of "Punchidown" in the parish of Kentisbeer, in the County of Devon made the eleventh day of February in the year of our Lord, on thousand eight hundred and thirty-seven first it is my will wish and meaning for my present wife Jane Potter and my Daughter Elizabeth Potter to be whole and sole Excutoresses of this my Will and testament and I hereby "devis" [devise] and bequeath all my Goods, Chattles monies Securities for money and other effects whomsoever and whatsoever I shall die seized or possess'd of subject to the payment of all my just and lawful debts, Funeral Expenses and the proving of this my will unto and for the use of my wife Jane and my Daughter Elizabeth in the manner following that is to say it is my will and meaning for my Wife and Daughter as joint Executoresses after my decease and to have full possession of all that I die seized or possessed of an it my Will for my Son Samuel Potter to have my clothes after my death and to remain in the House if choose (that he now rents from me) by paying my Wife Jane and my Daughter Elizabeth the Sum of four pounds per year to be paid to them quarterly and it is my Will for my Daughter Mary Coombe to have one pound to be paid to her by my Executresses out of the "Clib" Money and further it is my Will that my Son Henry Potter and James Luxton to leave my Wife and Daughter within twenty one days after my decease and to remain no longer with them as Lodgers or otherwise.
