It consists of a main body and three detached portions. The soil is mostly good. The living is a curacy in the diocese of Leighlin, value with Urglin, £406, in the patronage of the bishop. Duckett's Grove is the principal residence. A preceptory for Knights Templars anciently stood here, which was subsequently granted to the Aylmer family.
