CULLEN K

In 1868, the parish of Cullen K contained the following places:

"CULLEN, a parish in the barony of Kinalea, in the county of Cork, province of Munster, Ireland, 6 miles N.E. of Kinsale. Crosshaven is its post town. It is situated near the sea-coast, and Derryleeve Hill takes up a considerable portion of the surface. The soil is good, and might be managed with greater advantage. The little stream Ringabella traverses the interior. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Cork, value with Templebready, £90, in the patronage of the Dean of Cork. The nearest church is at Ballymartle, to which place Cullen is attached in the Roman Catholic arrangement. Here is a small private day school for boys and girls. There are some remains of the old church standing. Glynney is the principal seat."
