In 1868, the parish of Aglish contained the following places:

"AGLISH, (or Aglishmartin), a parish in the barony of Iverk, in the county of Kilkenny, province of Leinster, Ireland, 3 miles to the W. of Waterford. It is situated on the river Suir. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Ossory, Ferns, and Leighlin, value £98, in the patronage of the crown. There is no church. Grandison Castle is in this parish, which was erected by the Butlers.
