The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Kilcolumb contained the following places:

"KILCOLUMB, a parish in the barony of Ida, county Kilkenny, province of Leinster, Ireland, containing the village of Ballincrea, 6 miles N.E. of Waterford, its post town. The parish is 4 miles long and about the same broad, and is bordered on either side by the river Barrow and the road from Waterford to Innistiogue. The surface is hilly, but contains a fair proportion of pasture land and good arable soil. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Ossory, value with Dunkill, £436, in the patronage of the crown. Here are a day and a Sunday school. Rochestown and Rathinure are the principal residences.
