The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Kilmanman contained the following places:

"KILMANMAN, a parish in the barony of Tinnahinch, Queen's County, province of Leinster, Ireland, containing the village of Clonaslee. The parish is 6 miles long by 6 broad. The surface is half mountainous and boggy, and includes Lough Armagh. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Kildare, value with Oregan, £575. Brittas is the seat of Lieutenant-Colonel Dunne, M.P. for the county. The parish takes its name from having had a church dedicated to St. Manman. A monastery was founded here in the 7th century."

"CASTLECUFFE, a village in the parish of Kilmanman, barony of Tinnahinch, in Queen's County, province of Leinster, Ireland, not far from Clonaslee. It is seated in a boggy district, under the Slievebloom mountains. Near the village is Brittas, the seat of the Dunnes. A fair is held on the 22nd November."
