In 1868, the parish of Boystown contained the following places:"BOYSTOWN, (or Baltiboys), a parish in the barony of Lower Talbotstown, in the county of Wicklow, province of Leinster, Ireland, 3 miles to the S. of Blessington. It is situated in a mountainous district, on the banks of the river Liffey, and comprises an area of 25,135 acres. Granite and slate are quarried here. The living is a vicarage united with that of Blessington, in the diocese of Dublin, Glendalagh, and Kildare. In the neighbourhood are Baltiboys, the seat of Colonel Smith, and several other residences of the gentry.
