"Capel Borthin. This chapel stood on Blaenborthin land, but the field now forms part of Bryn Martin farm. One can see a hedge stretching from the ditch on the edge of the highway to about half-way across the field. Local tradition has it that this hedge was the southern boundary of the graveyard. An old lady named Mary Williams, of Panteg , (which is on Charles Lloyd's Waunifor land) claimed that she had heard Mr T Bowen asking the church members whether they intended to rebuild the chapel. When they gave a negative answer, he obtained permission to remove the stones of the building, and used them to build the old Waunifor chapel in 1760. The Martin fair was held in the field of the graveyard on November 21st for many years until it was moved to Llanybyther. There is no reference to Capel Borthin in the parish records.
