The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868
In 1868, the parish of Bonvilston contained the following places:
"BONVILSTON, (or Bolston or Tre-simon), a parish in the hundred of Dinas-Powis, in the county of Glamorgan, South Wales, 4 miles to the E. of Cowbridge. Cardiff is its post town. It is not far from the coast of the Bristol Channel. Limestone is quarried in the neighbourhood. The living is a perpetual curacy in the diocese of Llandaff, value £83, in the patronage of J. J. Bassett, Esq. The church is dedicated to St. Mary. The charitable endowments of the parish amount to £12 a year. Bonvilston Park is the principal seat.
