"BRYNCETHIN, a village, is one mile from St. Bride's church, to which there is a chapel of ease. There are two Baptist chapels, one erected in 1887, with seats for 70 persons, and the other in 1908, to seat 200. There are also a Congregational chapel (Peniel), erected in 1879, with 300 sittings, a Calvinistic Methodist chapel, seating about 110, and a Wesleyan chapel with about I00 sittings. There are two collieries in the neighbourhood, one in the village, and another at Heoliaethog, a village about one and a half miles north-east."
