will of william cater of uffington gentleman. dated 30 september 1545 37hen8
soul to almighty god, our lady saint mary to all the holy company of heaven. my body to be buried in the parish church of uffington.
to the parish church 1 cow and 2 torches.
to the high alter of the said church 5d
to the poor of uffington 5s
to the hearse light of the said church 3s-4d

to thomas cater my son £20
to dorathie my daughter £20 on the day of her marriage
to my son will'm cater three c' sheep 12 kine and 1 bull at the age of 16 years
to my wife dorothe cater to have and enjoy my farm of uffington for 30 years and after 30 years my son william cater to have the farm for the remainder of my term of years in it.
if william not living then thomas to have the remainder of the lease and if thomas not living then dorothe my daughter to have the remainder.
the residue of my goods to dorothe my wife who is to be sole executrix.
